How do I contact someone about this site, how it collects and stores my information or how it processes my personal information? 

This Privacy Policy details what information we collect, why we collect it, how long it is stored, where it is stored. We also detail how you can request a copy of your information stored on this site and how to withdraw your consent to this policy. When you agree to this policy, you agree to abide by and understand the content of the site’s privacy policy. 

The MiX Telematics Academy (we’ll call it “the site” hereinafter) takes your privacy seriously. To help make this policy as easy and simple to understand we have commonly asked questions and answer questions you might have, and that legislation says we must tell you about.  

How do I contact someone about this site, how it collects and stores my information or how it processes my personal information? 

You can contact the site’s administrators at academy@mixtelematics.com and your question will be answered by a person competent to answer it. You are also welcomed to contact the Group’s Information Officer – their details are published on the MiX Telematics global site at https://mixtlematics.com. 

Who can consent to this policy?

Any natural person who has the capacity to conclude an agreement as defined in your country.

What information do you collect and why? 

The site collects a considerable amount of information, some of which is known as “special personal
information”. Here is what we collect:

• Your demographic information makes you an identifiable person and subject to the principles of data privacy outlined in this policy.

• Your use of this website, including how often you access it, which pages you visit and for how long.

• Your interactions with the site, including your answers to quizzes, policy acceptance and related information.

We collect this information to provide you with the services this website provides, known as a legitimate interest, and – if you agree to it – you consent to us collecting it. 

How do you collect and process my information, and what information is automated? 

• You provide us with your information freely and willingly.

• We collect your information when you interact with the site.

• Your information is processed, sometimes automatically, to provide you with the services offered by this site, such as: your score for a quiz, issuing you a badge, collating reports and other information like these.

If the information you have collected or processed is wrong, how do I correct it? 

It is your responsibility to have your information corrected. You can correct your information either by doing so yourself, or if that is not possible you can ask the site administrators to correct it on your behalf by sending them a message from your profile.

Where is my information stored and for how long is it stored? 

Your information is stored digitally in Ireland and is therefore subject to cross-national data transfer rules and regulations. We are conscious of this requirement and strive to keep your information personal and safe.

• We keep your information for as long as you have given us the consent to keep it, or

• We store your information for as long as legislation requires us to keep it (such as a record of compliance), or

• We remove all the information described here and anonymize all other personally identifiable information after three years. 

Whichever of these comes last is the rule we follow.

With whom is my data shared? 

• You.

• Any party to which MiX Telematics has a contractual agreement with, if it is satisfied with the agreement, embodies the spirit of this privacy policy.

• If you are a MiX Telematics employee, your information is shared internally with parties with a legitimate interest following the spirit of this policy and with your consent to share it in other agreements.

How do I withdraw my consent? 

If you wish to withdraw your consent, you can do so at any time from your profile. If you withdraw your consent, you handle the consequences of doing so. Your information will be removed as described earlier in this policy, or you can request it to be removed. If your request is approved (sometimes the law says we must keep your information) you also take full responsibility for the consequences of your request.
